Lemons around Lake Garda in Northern Italy have a long tradition. Since the 13th century, special stone structures called limonaie were built in the region to protect lemon trees during winter and allow them to grow so far north. The most famous town associated with this tradition is Limone sul Garda – a small settlement whose name still evokes the lemon groves that were a symbol of abundance, sunshine, and trade in the region.

The yellow fruit in Mediterranean culture is often a sign of life and light. It brings freshness and color into the home, just as these gardens brought life to the shores of Garda.
